Why I love to reset in February - Thoughts from a Professional Organizer

After the whirlwind of the holidays, I dedicated January to rest and recovery—a perfect choice for the dark, cold, and snowy days. So, what did I do? I read books, binge-watched Netflix, cooked comforting meals, stretched often, cuddled with my cat, and worked on puzzles. On days when I had more energy, I tackled a deep clean of my home and kicked off a three-month no-spend challenge—fitting, since I was already in a mindset of slowing down and resetting.

Now, with January behind me, I feel genuinely refreshed. February is my month to set intentions for the year ahead, reflecting on what’s working and what might need to shift.

Here’s where I’m focusing my energy:

Intentional spending. This year, I’m committed to acquiring less and being mindful of every dollar. That means reviewing all expenses, trimming what’s unnecessary, and finding better deals where I can.

Business growth. I’m expanding my services and continuing my education to better support my clients. Learning excites me, and I have some exciting things in the works!

Simplifying routines. Streamlining processes creates more space for what truly matters. I’m evaluating what no longer serves me and letting it go.

I encourage you to reflect on areas where small, meaningful changes could improve your life. They don’t have to be drastic—sometimes, the simplest shifts make the biggest difference. Don’t chase perfection; consistency is what leads to real transformation. Show up for yourself, be patient, and remember: not every day will go as planned, and that’s perfectly okay!
